4 Must-Do Experiences to Keep You Cool This Summer

  1. Run through the sprinklers. Head to one of Seattle’s many spray parks and wading pools! Bonus: While you’re out there, be sure to check out the solar flowers at Seattle Center (outside the Pacific Science Center) and solar picnic shelters at Jackson Park. So Cool.
  2. Hang out at the library.  With 26 locations, it’s easy to find a Seattle Public Library near you. Enjoy free access to books, computers and yes, air conditioning. Bonus tip: Library card holders are also eligible for free museum passes!
  3. Head to your local coffee shop. Buy an iced coffee and take a break from the heat while you read the book you grabbed earlier at the library. Bonus tip: Many coffee shops offer refills for pennies so you can stay as long as you like!
  4. Into the woods. The North Cascades offer a variety of outdoor adventures. From camping to hiking to whitewater rafting. While you’re there, take notice of where your electricity comes from – cool off on a Skagit Tour boat ride and get up close and personal with your carbon free hydroelectricity at Ross Dam.
